Remembering Bhopal

It is 25 years since the Bhopal tragedy, the worst case of industrial negligence causing 20,000 deaths due to chemical pollution. It was actually worse than negligence, it was deliberate because it was inevitable, not giving a damn about how many Indian people they were going to kill.

Union Carbide morally might only be the same as a tobacco company, or a manufacturer of wood burners, or the sellers of firewood, but the scale of their arrogance is enormous.

People who burn off either inside or out, are exactly the same too. The indifference to the suffering that their pollution causes, well it is a moral outrage.
